Pigtails

1 day old---what beautiful hair!!!

2 weeks old....still has hair...

3 months old....losing it slowly...

4 months old.....

Christmas....

9 months old....

15 months old...getting some hair now...

19 months old....finally....hair to play with!

So anyone that knows me knows that I couldn't wait to have a little girl and play with her hair....Well, Ella was born with a head full of dark hair, then it all fell out and has slowly grown back. The only problem is it only grows in the back. She has a nice Southern Redneck Mullet....I decided that I would cut it but then Ella would look like a boy. So I have attempted to do different things with it and the only thing that will work is pigtails....And boy does she look cute in some pigtails....Here are some pictures....

18 months old

Where does time go? We just wish we could hit the pause button and slow Ella down! She is changing and growing everyday. It seems like I used to know how many weeks and days old she was and now I have to stop and think about it when someone asks me how old she is. We had a long weekend together because of the "snow day" and Mardi Gras holidays and it was so nice. It was nice to wake up, walk upstairs and get her out of her bed, and bring her down and snuggle without having to rush to get to school! We were at Target last week and the lady in front of us had a tiny little baby in a carrier and Ella pointed to him and said,"BABY!" I wanted to say,"No, you are my baby, kiddo! Stop growing so fast!" She is a character and we laugh at her nonstop.... She is very strong willed (I have no idea where she gets it from) and she has been testing us lately.....A LOT! I will pop her when she really needs it but of course Cameron won't. She recently started hitting us or the dogs when she gets excited so I thought I would give "Time Out" a shot....I read all about it and yesterday morning she kept easing up the stairs. I told her no three times and asked her in my sternest voice to come down right now....Well, she kept on creeping up.... I finally had enough and started up the stairs towards her. She grinned from ear to ear and said,"Hey mama!" I told her if she didn't come down she would have to go to time out. She looked at me like I had lost my mind. She ended up sitting in time out on the rug in front of the door and took it like a champ....she cried and whined for 60 seconds but then it was over. The funny thing is that I am pretty sure she has been in time out somewhere before, like, oh say...daycare....Here are a few pics of my 1 and a half year old....I don't like the way that sounds :)

Mardi Gras 2010

Wow this is fun!!!
Waiting for the parade!!!

Ella and Lily!

Just mom and dad at the ball

Yep, Ella gets Mardi Gras....well, she gets the beads! We didn't take her to a real parade but we did take her to a kids parade in Rosswood... She loved it! Here are a few pics from the Mardi Gras Season....

Just a few Ella pics

We waste a lot of time just watching Ella. She is such a mess these days. She is her own little person and it blows my mind how fast she is growing up. She found these sunglasses that I bought in the $1 section at Target last summer. She wears them everywhere and even pushes them up on her little head and wears them like I do. Even if they are upside down she is still one cool kiddo! She thinks she is a rockstar....she is hilarious... She is starting to talk more and more. I have to admit I was a little concerned that she wasn't talking more. Her pediatrician told me she was fine...talking more than the average kiddo her age. Well, we have really had to watch what we say around here because she repeats everything. It might not sound exactly as it should but we know what she is saying, or at least I do.....
