Ten Months Old

The last 10 months have taught me oh so much...
1. Having your heart multiply is possible.
2. Patience....
3. Never again will I ever be on time to anything... I've accepted this, and that's a lot, coming from me.
4. Sisters are amazing, and I wish I would've had one.
5. Sleep isn't a necessity.
6. Every child is different, in so many ways.
7. Second children aren't photographed 1/2 as much as firsties...
8. I only thought I had my hands full with one baby.
9. Hand me downs are just as cute the second time around.
10. I find myself doing things with Emory I would've NEVER done with Ella. For example, the other day, you needed a snack, your highchair tray was dirty, so I just put some puffs on the floor... Sorry Emmecat....
11. It doesn't matter that my house isn't always in perfect condition... There are toys spread from corner to corner... Bottles that need to be washed, clothes that need to be washed, an unorganized pantry, refrigerator, and closets, clothes folded that sit in a basket and are never put up because I end up using them before I get a chance to put them up.... The list goes on and on...

There are many other things that I've learned I'm sure, but these are the things that stand out the most...

We love you to pieces Emmecat....
You make things more interesting, that's for sure. You are a spunky, hot-headed, silly baby. I can't imagine our little family without you...

Thanksgiving 2011

We had a great time in Aliceville for Thanksgiving. We went to the cabin and had the Annual McBride Thanksgiving Shindig... There was a ton of delicious food and a lot of love. Everyone ate way too much....as usual. We also celebrated Namaw and Granddaddy's 60th Wedding Anniversary. We also watched the Iron Bowl and it was nice to see Alabama take the win. There is so much I have to be thankful for... A husband I adore, two girls that are my world, a job I love, and the best family and friends ever... I am truly blessed!

Nine Months of Sweetness

I feel like I just wrote the last monthly blog for you Emmecat. Your personality just keeps getting bigger and bigger!
Things I love about you:
1. Your crooked smile
2. The way you put your head down like you are ashamed when someone talks to you
3. The way you swat at any and everything... I still say you are going to be our volleyball star!
4. You look like a little Komodo Dragon when you skedaddle off so fast.
5. You crack yourself up, and that cracks us up.
6. You have a mind of your own, even at 9 months.
7. Your big, beautiful, bright blue eyes.
8. Your facial expressions... They are hysterical.
9. You have a voice and you aren't afraid to use it....
10. As much as I want to dislike the fact that you think you should be permanently attached to my hip, I secretly love it.... You love your mommy and your mommy loves you!
11. The way you light up when you see your daddy. It's the sweetest thing...

Now, if we could work on sleeping all night, that would make us very happy... You only get up once a night, but we are tired, baby girl....

I love you to the moon and back..
Happy 3/4 of a Year!
XOXOXO

Happy Halloween from the Crakers

We had a great Halloween... For weeks, Ella has insisted that she dress up as a Spider Witch... Every once in awhile, she would say she wanted to be a cowgirl, lion, spider, or cheerleader. Emmecat didn't have much say so this year, so i decided a chunky little cat would be perfect.I had a vision of the girls dressed up in coordinating costumes... Well, Ella refused to wear her witch hat and Emory had cat whiskers smeared all over her face. We went over to a friend's and played, ate chili, and did a little trick or treating. Ella really got into the trick or treating part.... She would scream as loud as she could,"TRICKORTREAT!!!!!!!," grab as much candy as she could fit in her little hands, and then run as fast as she could back to us. It was so much fun!

Fall Fun at Church

We enjoyed a beautiful morning at church this morning. The weather couldn't be more perfect! There was a pony ride, petting zoo, pumpkin patch, face painting, food, music and fellowship... Not a bad Saturday morning!!!

Ella Lately

I haven't blogged about my Ella lately, so I thought I'd catch you up on the big sister. Ella, you are an amazing big sister...Emory is so blessed to have you as her big sister. This time a year ago, I couldn't imagine you having to share anyone or anything with a baby, but you've adjusted beautifully! You make sure Emory is doing what you think she should be at all times. Emory plays with weird things, like water bottles, boxes, laundry baskets, pillows, etc. Nevermind the hundreds of toys you guys have. You take it upon yourself to take these "toys" that she loves away, and she doesn't appreciate it very much. It's cute though, because in your 3 1/2 year old mind, you are protecting her and making sure she is doing what she should be...
You are hysterical... Today, we got home, you walked over to the fridge and got a bottle of water and said,"I had a haud day at stoool, I'm so thirsty, I need lots of wadah!" I should seriously keep a journal of the funny things you say.... I'd love to share them all with you one day!
You have a huuuuuuge imagination!!! Some of your favorite things to pretend to be..... a teacher, doctor, mommy, witch, and cowgirl...you could have a future in Hollywood...
Tonight I took you to dance and then we had to run a few errands. I love our silly conversations and I love the random questions. At times you can be a dramatic three year old and 15 seconds later, you are our sweet, caring, silly little girl.
We adore you Ella...
You tell us that you love us BIIIIIIIIGGGG, and just so you know, the feeling is oh so mutual!
XOXOXO

Happy Eight Months!!!

Sweetness is now 8 months old... I'm not sure where time has gone, but it's gone by too fast! You are 2/3 of a year old now, Emmecat. You still have a very strong will and go for whatever you want. When your daddy, sister, or I take something away from you because you don't need it, for example, a small toy, paper, nasty shoe, etc, you throw a fit. You don't stop throwing it until we either give it back to you or remove you from the situation. You are pulling up on any and everything... I totally expect you to let go and start walking any day.... I'm not being a mom that thinks my kid is an exception, it's just that you did start crawling at 5 months....so why wouldn't you walk early too? You are a happy baby, and I'm thankful for that, considering our first few months were a little rough at times. You adore your sister and already want to do everything that she does. I tell her that's not going to change. Your favorite thing to do is clap... You clap all the time.... It's so funny!
I booked our first trip to Disney last week and it just so happens we are going on your first birthday. Everyone says the second child gets the short end of the stick, but you are getting to go to Disney on your birthday... Lucky you! :
You are getting tubes in the morning. You have had a time with ear infections. Ella was 13 months old when she got her first set, you didn't make it that long. I pray that they are going to help you feel much, much better. Ear infections are a terrible thing. They helped Ella tremendously. I'm hoping they'll do the same for you.
We love you more than anything in this world, Emmecat!
