South Alabama Snow 2014

The meteorologists down here love to get excited and forecast snow flurries or wintery weather mix any chance they get. I usually blow them off because they are never right. Well, they were kind of right this time, except the 2-4 inches we were supposed to get moved north of us and we just got lots of sleet and it froze.... It was like a frozen tundra everywhere.... The girls thought it was snow, and I tried to break it to them it wasn't, but they thought I was a big fat liar.... Oh well... Maybe they will trust me one day. :) They were out of school for 3 days. It's almost impossible to keep two girls happy for 72 hours inside. Ella played outside a good bit, but Emory wasn't that impressed. Imagine that.

Emory's reaction.... typical
Emory decided she would be ok with it for awhile and have fun
Old Bayley didn't know what to think...it makes me sad that his face is as white as the ground.
Our HOME
Emory entertained herself by going through my clothes....
I tried to put Lua's jacket on her...it was pretty snug
Day 3.... I thought it would never go away.... thank goodness it did and this is rare occurrence in South Alabama

35 weeks

Well, if I don't write about the end of this pregnancy, I feel like I might block it out of my memory once sweetness arrives. After a trip to L&D a few weeks ago, I was put on modified bed rest for high blood pressure and swelling. I developed preclampsia later in my pregnancy with Ella, and my doctor feels like that's the road I'm heading down again. My blood pressure is still going up each week. At my appointment last week, my doctor decided to begin doing non stress tests twice weekly and an ultrasound each week. As of last week, Libby looked good! She weighs about 5 lbs. and is head down and ready! We will continue to watch her closely. The goal is to make it until February 24th, and if we do, I'll be induced. My dr. doesn't feel like I will make it, but I'm praying I do. I can't wait to meet this sweet girl.

This is one of the few pictures I have of me and the belly. RIDICULOUS!

Christmas

We had a very calm Christmas. We ended up packing up going to Jeje and Pop's. Luckily, Santa found us there. Uncle James and Aunt Holly weren't able to come since she was so pregnant with Baby Coleman. Uncle Sam was there.  I can't believe there will 2 new McBride babies next year! I really slacked with photo ops during the holidays. I refuse to have a picture of me made. I am boycotting pictures until after Libby's arrival.

First Hospital Stay

The Crakers had a first during the month of November. Poor Emmecat was admitted to the hospital and we had to stay for a dreadful TWO nights. To make things worse, Cameron was in California and Ella woke up the morning after she admitted with a high fever. Thank goodness Jeje came to the rescue and was here. She took her to the Doctor to find out that Ella had strep throat. Ella had to go to Aliceville and we stayed in the hospital another night. It was by far, the most stressful time I have had as a parent in my 5 1/2 years of parenting. Emory had a bad infection that wasn't caught when it should have been. After lots of fluids and antibiotics, she was back to her spunky self. As much as I would like to put this time out of my memory, one day, I know she will want to know about her overnight visit in the hospital.

Poor little love....
Jeje came to the rescue, thank goodness!

Thanksgiving 2013

We had a lovely little time at the cabin for Thanksgiving. All the McBrides were together. This was the last time we will all be together before the new babies come. I'm pretty excited about the holidays next year. I can't wait for the sweet baby cousins to be here!

Libby Lou

Baby Craker has a name! Her name will be Elizabeth Claire Craker and we will call her Libby. I went to the doctor last week and Libby is measuring 3 weeks ahead.....sounds like another Craker girl I know that did the same thing and then CAME 3 weeks early. I can't help but wonder if Libby will be a February baby like her big sister.

Another Girl?????

Ella had her heart set on a baby brother. It's a good thing that she has some time. We are so happy to be adding another princess. I REALLY thought it was a boy.....but then again, I thought Ella and Emory were boys too. So much for my maternal instinct. Ella is coming around slowly. The day after the gender reveal, she told me she was sorry she acted the way she did, but not to talk about the baby girl because it gave her a headache. We just don't talk about it. I know that Ella will be a fabulous big sister to no name baby girl. Ella would like to name her Zoey or Zoe? However you spell it.... Emory says her name is going to be Girl....How original! These girls make me laugh....
